La Mancha is a planned unit development in the southern area of Mission Viejo, California. Residents enjoy many community amenities, and close proximity to recreation.

La Mancha was built by Mission Viejo Company and is comprised of 276 townhomes. The smallest floor plan, Don Quixote, offers 1,208 square feet, two bedrooms, two baths, and a two-car garage. The Dulcinea features 2,192 square feet, four bedrooms, and a two-car garage.

This community is served by the Capistrano Unified School District which provides facilities like Viejo Elementary School as well as highly ranked Carl Hankey Middle School and Capistrano Valley High School. There are several private schools like Sunflower Montessori, Carden Academy, Al Ridah Academy, and Cornerstone Community School. There are several colleges in this region including Saddleback College which calls this city home and the University of California, Irvine.

Residents have access to Lake Mission Viejo, a private man-made lake. The beaches and water offer outdoor activities like swimming, fishing, boating, and paddle boarding. Movie screenings, fireworks, and concerts are held throughout the summer. There are two main shopping centers for this region; the Kaleidoscope Courtyards and The Shops at Mission Viejo where you’ll find theaters, restaurants, stores, and entertainment. Freeways are easily accessible and the Mission Hospital is also in this location.

La Mancha is basically surrounded by the Mission Viejo Country Club which offers a championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. This club also has facilitates for weddings and other special events. There are approximately two parks per square mile in this region. This community is close to La Mancha Park, Granada Park, and Cordova Park.

Mission Viejo is considered to be one of the biggest master planned communities in the nation. This city began home construction in the late 1960s and today is known for its upscale subdivisions, clean air, and low crime.
